Well, here's it guys - Battletest2 Director's Cut version 1 final. This is a tribute to YOU, passionate member of one of the most amazing RTS communities I've ever taken part of in my decade of RTS gaming. Me and my team have done our best to provide you with the best possible balance and exploit-free gameplay, as impossible as it is in a 6 unique-factions, 15 unique-matchups game.

BT2DC is indeed my "swan song" for BfME2, since I'm not moving for RotWk, and I have some reasons for that. First and foremost 'coz I deeply disagree with what has been done with the game. I was consulted during its development, but the game wasn't in the original creators hands so things ended up being severely distorted. I can't understand an expansion pack so deeply changing all the base roots of a game, it's almost funny that I've been accused of "changing too much" in the past - while I've never disrespected an original design phylosophy, as much as I didn't fully agreed with it. Bottom line is that RotWk is a totally new game (and old, since some critical things are just untouched from 1.04 for "lack of time), and one that I'm not willing to play. Neither a single of my top-player mates who tested it. I also abhore re-doing things, and adding up yet another faction to the mess while not addressing the critical, real conceptual problems in the game (like lack of proper control points and of an universal persistant air layer) is just cashcowing imho.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating any boycott here, I think everyone should judge for himself. I'm only justifying my reasons for every kind community member who asked me to keep developing for the expansion. Deeply appreciated guys, you have no idea how much such recognition touches me.. but I just can't. Don't worry though, I'm sure some top-notch modders like Gansnudel and Crashdoc will carry on the torch. These folks just like the whole team have been simply fantastic, I can't thank them enough - but that shouldn't stop *you* from trying, they surely deserve your back-taps smile.gif

It's almost "poetic coincidence" that we're releasing this at the exact same date the expansion is officially out. Play the new conquest mode in DC, and compare to what you can get in RotWk in terms of REAL innovation. More than anything else, that sums things up for me. As for if BT2DC will or not turn into a real patch, soon we'll know, I'll have a talk to EA about it. I wanted to finish it first to have something solid to present.

One last thing: since I'm not a company and do this solely for passion, I do intend to keep on doing regular maintenance on the patch-mod, fixing minor bugs and major imbalances - just as playing conquest mode with friends happy.gif. I just won't add any uber new feature or touch the balance in a deep level anymore.
That's not a bad thing though, it means that.. Battletest2 DC is done. Rejoyce!
